Frances Harper Shipley

Frances Harper Shipley, 68, of Elizabethton, passed away Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center after short illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late David Harper and Nell Campbell Harper Elliott.
Frances was a 1968 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was a retired cashier in the cafeteria at Johnson City Medical Center after 22 years of service. She was of the Free Will Baptist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two half brothers and three half sisters.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Dicie and Wayne Rouse, Elizabethton; a half brother, George Taylor, Fayetteville, N.C.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services for Frances Harper Shipley will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 30, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Burleson officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Cemetery, Mountain City. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Rouse, Dalton Rouse, Ricky Deloach, Dustin Deloach, Dylan Rouse, David Rouse and Jack Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Benfield, Luther Rouse, Matt Howell, her former neighbor David and friends from the cafeteria at Johnson City Medical Center. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the doctors and nurses at Johnson City Medical Center and the staff of Life Care Center, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of her sister and brother-in-law, Dicie and Wayne Rouse.
