Wanda Dean White

Wanda Dean White, 90, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 22, 2018, at her residence. Wanda was born in Mills City, Texas to the late William Edward and Myrtle Mae Gunter Garner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mason White; a daughter, Diana Gail Saari; two brothers, Lloyd Garner and Doc Garner; and one sister, Mae Garner.
Wanda retired from Keystone Elementary School where she was employed as a school teacher. She was an accomplished artist and was a member of a weekly spiritual study group for over 35 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Cary Mason White and wife Elizabeth of Elizabethton and Roy Lee White and wife Robin of Flowery Branch, Ga.; one daughter, Pamela Gay White of Berkley, Calif.; five grandchildren, Trisha Honc Footit and husband Jance of Braselton, Ga., Bantu Zuhir of Oakland, Calif., Haroun Zuhir of Berkley, Calif., Adam White and Carly White, both of Elizabethton; four great-grandchildren, Sam Evans, Abe Evans, David Evans and Milos Footit; and one brother, John Garner and wife Marsha of Stephensville, Texas. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life service and graveside service will be conducted at Happy Valley Memorial Park at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Brown’s Chapel A.M.E.
