The Roan Mountain Citizens Club recently made a donation of $500 to the Roan Mountain Volunteer Department. The donation was made to cover the costs to install a warning siren for the Roan Mountain community. The purpose of the siren is to provide an emergency alert to the community in the event of some type of disaster.

“The hope is that the siren will never have to be used, but we also want our community to be prepared for events that may arise,” said Brian Tipton, Roan Mountain Citizens Club president. Tipton added that the organization wants to thank everyone who helped make the project a reality.
