Courthouse hosts retirement reception for Bristol, Carson

Star Photo/Abby Morris-Frye Officials and employees at the Carter County Courthouse got together Tuesday afternoon to host a retirement reception for Edrie "Jody" Bristol and Jean Carson.

Officials and employees at the Carter County Courthouse gathered Tuesday afternoon to wish two ladies well on their retirement.
Friday will mark the last day of service for Carter County Register of Deeds Edrie “Jody” Bristol. She has a total of more than 40 years of service in the Deeds office, including 12 years as the elected Register of Deeds.
Also retiring on Friday is Jean Carson, who has worked in the Deeds office since 2004.
Several employees and officials at the Courthouse hosted the retirement reception in the first floor hallway at the Courthouse. During the reception, a large number of community members, officials, and employees stopped by to visit with Bristol and Carson and wish them well on their retirement.
