Harry F. Absher

Harry F. Absher, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018, at Hermitage Health Care in Elizabethton after a brief illness. He was born December 27, 1942. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar R. and Ellen Crowe Absher, and his grandparents, Franklin D. and Virginia Davis Absher and Farris D. and Lottie P. Morton Crowe.
Mr. Absher was of the Baptist faith. He was a former employee of NARC and a former Deputy and Investigator for the Carter County Sheriff’s Department.
Survivors include a daughter, Mitzi Lea Absher of Elizabethton; sister, Barbara Rumley (Jerry) of Watauga; brothers, Larry Absher (Arlene) and Tom Absher (Lynn), both of Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews; his special friends, Kem Birchfield and Jeff Guinn; all his friends at the Courtyard Apartments; and his very special dog, “Little Girl,” his faithful companion for 10 years. Special thanks to Connie Tester for the care of his dog and bringing her to see him so faithfully at the nursing home, which always put a big smile on his face.
