Randy Lee Tester, 57, of Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born November 12, 1960 in Johnson City to the late Ralph and Edna Delores Simpson Tester.
Randy served in the United States Army. He had lived most of his life in Carter County. He was an employee of Robinette of Bristol.
Randy loved to talk about hunting, fishing, guns and his grandchildren. I know we have to go on living, but it will be hard. We will always tell the grandbabies how much he loved them.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Hazel Simpson and Ted and Callie Tester; his brother, Douglas Ralph Tester; and a twin sister, Sandy Dee.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Lorie Stanton Tester; a daughter, Sandra and husband Matthew Van Gerpen; a son, Christopher and wife Jessica Tester; three granddaughters, Anna Rose, Olivia Joy and Eva Elisabeth; one grandson, Isaiah Matthew Van Gerpen; one sister, Elondia and husband Charlie Ferrell; two brothers, Greg and wife Deloris Tester and Carl and wife Wanda Tester; and two very special friends, James Hartman and Tommy Chappell.
Funeral services for Randy Lee Tester will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, August 27, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Grant Foster, minister, officiating. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the 2200 and 2800 Wings of Johnson City Medical Center. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. It was his wish to be cremated following the funeral service. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website, www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
