Donald Ray Street

Donald Ray Street, 70, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, July 9, 2018, at his residence. A native of Washington County, he had lived most of his life in Carter County.
Mr. Street was a graduate of Hampton High School. He served in the United States Army during Desert Storm. He was retired from AO Smith, formerly American Water Heater, after 34 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Morton Street.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mick McDowell, Johnson City; a sister, Jennie Thornburg, Knoxville; a brother, Dean Street, Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Donald Ray Street will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with his son-in-law, Mick McDowell, doing the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The graveside service and interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dean Street, Charles Morton, Randy Roark, Eddie Canter and Willard Lovelace. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mr. Street to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-990.
