As the Independence Day holiday approaches, a local landmark got decked out in red, white, and blue on Thursday.

Members of the Elizabethton Fire Department and Carter County Rescue Squad teamed up to hang a patriotic wreath on the historic Covered Bridge. The park around the bridge will play host to a variety of activities on July 4 to celebrate Independence Day. The wreath for the bridge was created by Felty Roland Florist.
