To the editor:
A letter appeared in “Your View” of the June 24th Elizabethton STAR written by Kristi Carr regarding the Sheriff’s Office budget that was totally inaccurate. In the letter she stated that the sheriff’s budget was over 50 percent of the county budget.
Facts are the county’s budget for 2018-19 is $68,259,631. The sheriff’s budget is $7,998,013. If you do the math that amounts to approximately 12 percent (1171704 percent). It appears some don’t want the truth to get in the way of political propaganda.
