Ralph E. Blevins, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, May 14, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Bristol, Tenn., he was a son of the late Edward and Virgie Lee Gourley Blevins. He had lived most of his life in Carter County.
Mr. Blevins had been a resident at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. He worked for almost 45 years for Novak Trout Farm, formerly Watson Trout Farm, having retired due to disability.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four half sisters, one half brother, one daughter, Sharon Wilson, and one granddaughter, Heather Blevins.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Mary Jewell Gentry Blevins, one daughter, Jeanne Gourley, one son, James Blevins, four grandchildren, Matthew, Thomas, Amber and Wesley Blevins, five great-grandchildren, Sadie, Avari, Wyatt, Levi and Mikey, all of Elizabethton; one sister, Martha Warren and husband Frank, Marion, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and one uncle, Willie H. Gourley, Bristol, Tenn.
Funeral services for Ralph E. Blevins will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, May 18, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Street officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 19, in the Old Glade Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Glade Springs, Va. Pallbearers will be his son and grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Saturday.
