Deputies arrest suspect from police pursuit

UPDATE: Lance Justin Lewis in custody after evading arrest
Around 6 p.m. Friday, deputies arrested 27-year-old Lance Justin Lewis, who is charged with felony evading arrest. He was taken into custody at his residence at 150 Bernie Lewis Road.
Lewis also has additional charges pending, including reckless endangerment and leaving the scene of an accident. Deputies issued an arrest warrant for Lewis after he fled from a deputy who attempted a traffic stop Thursday night.

According to a release by the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, the CCSD has identified the driver in Thursday night’s pursuit as Lance Justice Lewis of Stoney Creek.
Deputies are still in search of Lewis and have charged him with Felony Evading Arrest among other offenses.
At roughly 8:20 p.m. on Apr. 26, deputies responded to multiple calls of a suspicious vehicle, a red Ford truck, in the Stoney Creek area. A CCSD deputy, while responding to the calls, attempted to stop a truck matching the suspect’s vehicle. The driver fled in the vehicle, and the deputy pursued. The driver wrecked the truck on Bill Lewis Road before fleeing on foot. The deputy pursued until the suspect entered the river.
