With spring in full effect, the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation maintenance staff was staying active Tuesday with a variety of projects underway within the city. One of the more highly anticipated projects is the creation of new pavilions and bathrooms at Harmon Park — located beside the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce. David McQueen, maintenance supervisor, along with Garrett Johnson and Danny Jones, spent the day putting in beams that will be used for further construction at the park. McQueen is anticipating the project could be completed within six to seven weeks pending anything unforeseen.
