Nathan “Mark” Lipford

Nathan “Mark” Lipford, 62, of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2018, from an extended illness.
Mark was an avid race car fan, with Dale Earnhardt being his favorite driver, as everyone knew.
He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Boster; his parents, Audrey “Lois” Lipford and James H. Lipford; two brothers, Phil Lipford and James H. Lipford Jr.; and recently an uncle, Jack Lipford. He was also preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by the Love of His Life, Louise Townsend, and three daughters, Sherry Street, Scarlett Boster and Penny Ward. Mark is also survived by three sisters, Susan Ellison, Angela Markland and Shelly Hardin, and three brothers, Matthew Lipford, Mitchell Lipford and Kevin Lipford and (Jacklyn). Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins along with aunts and a special uncle, Bob Lipford.
The family will be receiving friends at Memorial Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 5, from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by the funeral with Rev. Bud Malone officiating. Music will be provided by Don Trivette. Following the funeral we will go in procession to White Rock Cemetery in Hampton for the burial. Pallbearers will be Dylan Ward, Keith Ingram, Josh Lipford, David Smith, Steve Yancy and Michael Dugger. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Boner, Randy Lewis, Terry Emmert, Carl Grindstaff, Roy Heaton, Terry (Stoney) Hatley, John B. Smith, Don Trivette, Debbie King and Tina Roberson, plus all of his many friends he has met over the years, along with the Carter County Sheriff’s Department who Mark joked “carried him everywhere so why not to his grave!”
Mark was always helpful and a friend in need and would always bring a smile to your face with his never ending jokes and contagious laughter.
