Members of the current class of the Carter County Leadership Tomorrow program spent part of their morning on Tuesday learning more about career technical education.
The Leadership Tomorrow program is supported by the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce and taught by local volunteers and alumni.
The current class of the program toured Unaka High School on Monday morning to learn more about the Career Technical Education programs available at the school to help students prepare for a career path after graduation.
Unaka High School currently offers CTE programs in business technology, collision repair, health sciences, human services, and the nation’s only meat science program.
School staff and students spoke with the visitors about the different programs and the skills the students acquire that open up job opportunities for them after high school.
