Students in one of Lauren Turbyfill’s agriculture classes at Cloudland High School have been studying greenhouses and this week got to show their creativity by constructing their own miniature greenhouse.
Greenhouses come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be used to grow plants in different ways. Some feature plants growing in pots and hanging baskets while in others the seeds are planted into the earth which is enclosed by the greenhouse.
The students constructed their greenhouses after several different models — A-frame, Quonset, Tri-Penta, and Gable Roof — and then planted seeds inside to see how their designs worked.
