Edna Pearl Glover Jones, 88, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home after an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Dave and Bess Emmert Glover.
Mrs. Jones worked at TPI and retired from North Electric. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Edna Ruth Terry; a grandson, Jeff Buck; a brother, Billy Jack Glover; and a sister, Georgia Ford.
Survivors include her husband of 71 years, Kenneth Jones; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Irene Jones, Johnson City; four grandchildren, Mark Jones, Brian Buck and wife Tracie, Mooresville, N.C., Tina Michelle Buck and friend, Mike Hughes, Elizabethton, and Kim Reece and husband Anthony; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Townsend and husband Bobby, Johnson City; her son-in-law, Edward Terry; and several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Judy Kay Scott.
A Service to Celebrate the life of Edna Jones will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Alan King and Pastor Bobby Stout officiating. Music will be provided by Cindy Johnson. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 10, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Mark Jones, Anthony Reece, Brian Buck, Riley Buck, Mike Hughes, Jeff Townsend, Kevin Townsend and Bobby Townsend. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Judy and Victor Deloach and the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home for the excellent care she received. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Irene Jones.
