This week, Christians around the world are preparing to celebrate Christmas and the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who came into the world to give us the gift of eternal life. I am very thankful to be able to spend this time each year reflecting on the blessings that God has given each and every one of us. While Christmas is a special celebration of faith, I know this time of year can be difficult for many. As we gather together with family and friends, it’s important to remember those who are less fortunate and may not have the same blessings we do.

I also ask all of us to pray for our servicemembers who are overseas and unable to be home with their family during this season. Our nation’s heroes sacrifice so much to keep our country safe and free, including time with their loved ones. My thoughts and prayers are with them this holiday season. We’re fortunate to wake up every day in the greatest country in the world, and we owe it all to the men and women who serve in our nation’s armed forces.
I hope that whether you are celebrating Christmas or another religious holiday that your holidays are filled with love and fellowship.
