Who said Santa’s helpers only reside in the North Pole?
Wednesday proved to be the culmination of a busy tradition by the Sycamore Shoals Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary with the organization holding their annual Christmas Luncheon inside the Pine Room on the hospital’s premise.
As the sounds of Christmas music and fellowship moved through the air, volunteers were able to donate their items for the annual gift drive.
Vickie Ford, with the Auxiliary, stated the gifts will be provided to Second Floor New Leaf Wing patients to help encourage the holiday spirit inside the hospital.
Providing opportunities to give back to the community is the prime directive of the volunteer groups offered by Mountain States Health Alliance, the health system Sycamore Shoals is associated with.
According to information provided by the MSHA website, “volunteers at Mountain States Health Alliance is dedicated to high-quality patient-centered care. Volunteers perform a variety of duties and play a crucial role in helping Mountain States meet the needs of our patients and their families in an environment of care, understanding and compassion.”
Residents have the opportunity to assist in different projects performed by groups at each of the different hospitals within the health system. To learn more, visit MSHA’s website for more details.
