SUGAR GROVE, Va. — Dubie L. Hayes, 46, lost her battle with Leukemia and went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2017, peacefully at her home.
Dubie was born in Killeen, Texas and was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Miller; maternal grandparents, Hunter and Pauline Williams; and paternal grandparents, Jim and Julia Whitehead Miller.
She attended South Fork Baptist Church. She loved gardening and taking care of her goats and three dogs, Jake, Ellie and Nyx.
Dubie is survived by her husband, Reid Hayes; her children, Samuel and Daniel Bowers and Seth Pate, all of Elizabethton, Tenn.; her mother, Barbara Miller of Elizabethton, Tenn.; sister, Nickie Miller Vincent and husband Jeff of Shelbyville, Tenn.; brother, Eddie Miller II of Elizabethton, Tenn.; nephews, Trenton Hayes and Logan Griffey, and a niece, Tristen Griffey, that she and Reid were raising along with two step-daughters, Morgan Hayes of Alabama and Maggie Kirkbride of Cheyenne, Wyo.; nieces, Hannah Vincent and Emily Vincent Rogers and husband Cory; her mother-in-law, Fran Hayes; and close dear friends, Dawn Trivette, Lori and Jamie Carr, Jamie Goodman and Eddie Henson.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, December 3, at Bradley’s Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Kenny Rich officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, prior to services, or anytime at their residence. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at West Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Smyth County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1124, Marion, VA 24354 or to the Leukemia/Cancer research at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Medical Center Boulevard, Winston-Salem, NC 27157.
