Sheriff’s Dept. plans class on church security Nov. 27

The Carter County Sheriff’s Office will teach a class on church security on Monday, Nov. 27, at 6:30 p.m. at Pleasant Beach Baptist Church.
According to Sheriff Dexter Lunceford, the class will be geared toward church security in general and will last approximately two hours. It is available, at no cost, to anyone who may have an interest in how to improve security in your church.
Sheriff Lunceford said the department’s personnel is also available for scheduling church specific consultations. “This is not the Active Shooter class that is being presented by Homeland Security,” he said.
Pleasant Beach Baptist Church is located at 108 Pleasant Beach Road, (Watauga Road), in Elizabethton.
