Dr. Charles Guinn Sr.

Dr. Charles Guinn Sr., 69, of Watauga, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 2017, at his residence.
A native of Elk Park, N.C., he was a son of the late Edward George and Fannie Puckett Guinn.
Mr. Guinn lived most of his life in Carter County. He was owner of C & C Mobile Home for 37 years. He was a member and had pastored Glenwood Independent Baptist Church, Jonesborough, for 23 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a loving daughter, Melinda Guinn Constable, and several other family members.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Shelby Jean Arquette Guinn; two sons, Charles “Goo” Guinn Jr. and wife Pat and Robbie Guinn; three daughters, Michelle Simpson, Delia Moon and husband Robert and Paula Smith and husband Howie Smith; his grandchildren, Josh Lovette, Roy Dean Simpson, Charles Lee Guinn and wife Julie, Travis Constable and wife Stephanie, Amanda Knight and husband Aaron, Danielle Smith, Austin Smith, Melinda Smith and Milli Pahuamba; 12 great-grandchildren; and his special friends, Harry Richardson, Roger “Boney” Tolley and Philip Pierce.
Funeral services for Dr. Charles Guinn Sr. will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 15, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Travis Constable officiating. Music will be provided by the Knight Family. The graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 16, in the Lyons Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, will be Scotty Puckett, Ricky Puckett, Robert Moon, Howard Puckett, Andy Guinn and Johnny Christian. Honorary pallbearers will be Rick Black, Phillip Pierce and Aaron Knight. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery.
