Check out these Halloween events in the upcoming days.
•Scary Stories at Fort Watauga
Thursday, Oct. 26, from 7:30 – 9 p.m. at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park.
Bring the family to hear tales of haints and happenings of days gone by. A tradition not to be missed, Scary Stories will be held this year at Fort Watauga, creating a unique atmosphere for an evening of spooky tales geared to the entire family. Be sure to bring a lawn chair or a blanket for this exciting family event!
• Trunk or Treat at the Johnson City Medical Center
Thursday, Oct. 26 from 5-8 p.m. in the front parking lot of the Johnson City Medical Center down by the Ronald McDonald House.
• Halloween In The Campground
Saturday, Oct. 28, from 6-9 p.m. at the campground at Roan Mountain State Park.
Join us for the 10th year of this annual family-friendly event. Campers compete for prizes for best decorated campsite and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. Hayrides through the haunted forest will take place until 8:30 PM. Visitors may roast hot dogs over the bonfire, with free hot dogs provided for the first 1,000 people beginning at 6 PM. Drinks and other concessions will be available for purchase.

• Trunk or Treat at Stoney Creek Baptist Church
Saturday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at Stoney Creek Baptist Church, located at 1843 Highway 91 in Stoney Creek.
• Trunk or Treat at First Christian Church
Saturday “evening,” Oct. 28 in the parking lot behind the church on East F Street across from the Elizabethton Police Department.
• Fall For Jesus Festival at Lynn Valley Baptist Church
Saturday, Oct. 28 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The festival will feature food, games, prizes, inflatables, activities for children, and much more. Lynn Valley Baptist Church is located at 367 Broad St., Elizabethton
• Harvest Festival and Truck or Treat at Zion Baptist Church.
Saturday, Oct. 31, from 3:30 – 6 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church, located at 1982 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton.
• A Frankentastic Time & Food Trunk Junction at The Mall at Johnson City.
Saturday, Oct. 28, from Noon until 8 p.m. at the Mall at Johnson City. Free Halloween festivities for the family including hayrides, costume contest, pumpkin patch, food trucks, and the annual trick or treating at the Mall.
Food Trucks from Noon until 8 p.m.
Hayrides from 3-8 p.m.
Pumpkin Patch starts at 3 p.m. with a free small pumpkin given to the first 300 kids
Trick or Treating in the Mall begins at 3 p.m.
Costume Contests begin at 4 p.m. and will be divided into different age groups with a category for “family” costumes.
• 3K Zombie Run at East Tennessee State University
Saturday, Oct. 28 at 9 a.m.
Each runner will be given two flags to wear during the race. Zombies will be hidden throughout the course and will try to steal the flags. Runners making it to the finish line with one or both flags are considered survivors. Registration for runners is $25. Those wishing to pose as zombies for the event can do so for $20. Spots are limited for the number of zombies. In addition to prizes for the top three finishers in the race, a prize will be awarded for the best zombie costume. All proceeds go to the non-profit Pittsburgh-Marquette Challenge, a fundraising competition among physical therapy students across the nation to support the Foundation for Physical Therapy, which supports physical therapy research and physical therapist student education. • Truck or Treat at Milligan College
Monday, Oct. 30, from 6-8 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. This year’s “Trunk or Treat” will be held in the parking lot of Milligan’s Faculty Office Building, located behind the McMahan Student Center. Parking for the event is available behind the Gregory Center for the Liberal Arts. A safe and fun environment for children, “Trunk or Treat” gives area youth an opportunity to enjoy this age old custom in a new and exciting way. Milligan students will dress in costume and decorate their cars to house a variety of treats for participants. “Trunk or Treat” is sponsored by LINC (Linking Individuals to the Needs of the Community). The LINC volunteer center is a student-run organization that connects Milligan students to volunteer needs in the surrounding community.
• Downtown Elizabethton Trick of Treating
Tuesday, Oct. 31 from 3 – 4:30 p.m. in historic downtown Elizabethton.
Trick or Treat at local businesses and others set up along East Elk Avenue. The Elizabethton Farmers’ Market will be set up for their final day of the season. Elizabethton Parks and Recreation will have special activities set up as well as a costume contest which will be held around 4:15 p.m. at the Veterans Walk of Honor at the corner of East Elk Avenue and Armed Forces Drive.
• Trick or Treating at Ivy Hall Nursing Home
Tuesday, Oct. 31 beginning at 5:30 p.m. The staff at Ivy Hall Nursing Home invites families to bring their children to Trick or Treat at the nursing home. Ivy Hall Nursing Home is located at 301 S. Watauga Ave., Elizabethton
• Trick or Treating at Hermitage Health Center
Tuesday, Oct. 31, from 4-6 p.m. The staff at Hermitage Health Center invites families to bring their children to Trick or Treat at the facility. Hermitage Health Center is located at 1633 Hillview Drive, Elizabethton.
• Willow Springs Baptist Church Trunk or Treat
Tuesday, Oct. 31, at 5:30 p.m. at Willow Springs Baptist Church, located at 544 Willow Springs Road, Elizabethton.
