The Elizabethton Senior Dance Club will hold a dance at the Elizabethton Elks Lodge, No. 1847, 1000 N. Sycamore St., from 7 to 10 p.m. The Rambling Rose Band will provide music. Those attending the dances are asked to bring finger foods to share. There is a $6 door charge. The club holds dances the second and fourth Friday nights of each month. All seniors are welcome.
The Hampton High School Class of 1953 will have its reunion at the Golden Corral Restaurant, Johnson City, at 1:30 p.m. All classmates and friends from the Classes of 1952 and 1954 are welcome to attend. For more information, please call Frank Cates at 725-3193 or Jimmy Lipford at 543-2938.

The descendants of Jacob and Mary Jane Davis Hicks will have a family reunion at the Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church Fellowship Hall beginning at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon. Other surnames include Carroll, Clemons and Mottern, among others. Family members and friends are invited to attend this very special celebration. A Fall Festival, sponsored by the Glenda Taylor DeLawder Estate and Friends of the Animal Shelter, will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Center, 300 W. Mill St. The event will include a yard sale, dessert dash, auctions, vendors, special celebrity lockup, donut & coffee booth, delicious food and much more. Johnson City Classic Car Club and Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, 928 N. State of Franklin Road, Johnson City, are hosting a Cruise In and Car Show, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the parking lot of Freddy’s Frozen Custard to benefit Susan G. Komen East TN, Tri-Cities. Registration starts at 9 a.m. Come check out the rides or enter your own for only $15. Enjoy live music, door prizes and or course Freddy’s delicious food. Freddy’s will be donating 15 percent of the sales to this organization. Get Ready for Spring: Winterizing Your Garden — It’s not too early to be planning & building your spring garden. Gardener extraordinaire, Ben Hunter, will be joining us to share his experiences & techniques for growing the garden of your dreams! Sponsored by the Northeast Tennessee Master Gardeners. Scary Stories at Fort Watauga — 7:30 p.m. at Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park. Strange things happen around All Hallows Eve, especially at an old fort by the river. Bring the family and join us for tales of woe and terror, the weird and macabre, with a touch of wit thrown in for good measure. Don’t be afraid, Fort Watauga at Sycamore Shoals isn’t haunted… we think!

Dashiell Lodge will host a “BBQ and Beans” dinner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at their Elizabethton facility near the Carter County Election Commission building. Friday’s event is hosted by The Eastern Star and Free and Accepted Masons of Dashiell Lodge. Attendees can purchase a plate for $8, which includes barbecue, beans, coleslaw, a dessert and drink. To-go plates will also be available. Proceeds from the event will benefit a variety of projects underway in Elizabethton and Carter County, including CHIP.
