The Elizabethton Senior Dance Club will hold a dance at the Elizabethton Elks Lodge, No. 1847, 1000 N. Sycamore St., from 7 to 10 p.m. The Rambling Rose Band will provide music. Those attending the dances are asked to bring finger foods to share. There is a $6 door charge. The club holds dances the second and fourth Friday nights of each month. All seniors are welcome.

The descendants of Jacob and Mary Jane Davis Hicks will have a family reunion at the Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church Fellowship Hall beginning at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon. A Fall Festival, sponsored by the Glenda Taylor DeLawder Estate and Friends of the Animal Shelter, will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Elizabethton Parks and Recreation Center, 300 W. Dashiell Lodge will host a “BBQ and Beans” dinner from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at their Elizabethton facility near the Carter County Election Commission building. Friday’s event is hosted by The Eastern Star and Free and Accepted Masons of Dashiell Lodge. Attendees can purchase a plate for $8, which includes barbecue, beans, coleslaw, a dessert and drink. To-go plates will also be available. Proceeds from the event will benefit a variety of projects underway in Elizabethton and Carter County, including CHIP.
