A few vendor slots remain for annual Arts and Crafts Show

Only a few spots remain for artisans and crafters to take part in the annual Elizabethton Woman’s Club Arts and Crafts Show.
“I only have eight spaces left,” said event coordinator Jo Voigt.
The Club is currently accepting applications for vendors to fill those vacant slots. Last year’s Arts and Crafts Show featured around 50 vendors selling a variety of handmade goods.
All applications are reviewed, and the applicants will be notified if they are approved or not. The approval process helps to ensure that only high-quality items are presented at the Show, Voigt said. New participants are required to submit photographs of their work along with their application but repeat vendors do not have to send photographs, according to Voigt.
“It’s all arts and crafts. It must be handmade by the vendor,” Voigt said. “We accept no manufactured items or handmade items made by someone other than the vendor.”
The applications are also reviewed to ensure they do not have too many vendors selling the same types of crafted goods.
Among the types of handmade goods available for purchase at the show are pottery, woodworking, glass, jewelry, needlework, crochet, knitting, leatherworking, photography, sewing, Christmas decorations, quilting, and a variety of other mediums.
“Pretty much anything that is an art or a craft,” Voigt said. “We have some pretty unique things.”
“We have a lady who does quilling,” she added. “That is an old, old craft.”
The vendor fee for the event is $60 for a 10-foot square of display space, and Voigt said some vendors will rent two spaces to showcase their work. Vendors can provide their own tables for the event but if they need to, they can rent tables for the event at a cost of $10 each.
The deadline to apply is October 24, and Voigt said that deadline is “firm.” Applications are available at the Elizabethton Parks & Recreation Center located at 300 W. Mill Street, Elizabethton.
The Show will be held in early November at the Parks & Recreation Center and is free for the public to attend.
