Sheila Gay Hatley Stout

Sheila Gay Hatley Stout, 63, Elizabethton passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Ravenna, Ohio, she had lived in Carter County most of her life. She was a 1972 graduate of Hampton High School. Sheila was retired from the Carter County School System as a Bus Aide. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Lunceford Hatley and a brother: Kenneth Hatley.

Survivors include her companion & care giver: Johnny Vines. Her Daughter: Amy Montgomery & husband Tivis, Her father: Carl C. Hatley, Elizabethton.  A sister: Patricia Stout & husband Larry, A brother: Rickey Hatley all of Elizabethton. Three Grandsons: Mason, Samuel and Connor Montgomery. A nephew: Doug Stout.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Arnold Hensley officiating. Interment will follow in the Bowers Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be: Johnny Vines, Tivis Montgomery, Gary Stout, George Robert Bowers, Eddie Fane and Dillard Richmond. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
