James Fenton Sherrill Jr. “Jim,” 64, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 25, 2017.
Jim served his community as a police officer in Lakeworth, Fla., and Johnson City, Tenn.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Fenton Sherrill Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce Sherrill, Johnson City, Tenn., and son, James F. Sherrill III and wife Michelle of Birmingham, Ala. He is also survived by his brother, Lynn Sherrill, Elizabethton, Tenn., and sister, LuAnn Presson and husband Doug, and two nephews, Cole and Banks, all of Johnson City, Tenn.; and special friend, Betsey Geagley of Elizabethton, Tenn.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor at Poplar Grove Baptist Church, Highway 91, Elizabethton, Tenn., on Monday, September 4, at 6 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family on our website: www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
