Jack Troutman

Jack Troutman, 84, of the Burbank Community of Roan Mountain, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 21, 2017, from the Johnson City Medical Center. Jack was born in the Burbank Community of Roan Mountain on February 21, 1933 to the late Hez and Delia Heaton Troutman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Jess, Roy, Guy and Ralph Troutman, and one sister, Edith Street.
Jack graduated from Cloudland High School in 1951 and retired from Summers Taylor after 35 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean War and he faithfully attended Burbank Freewill Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Willie Winters Troutman, of the home; one brother, J.L. Troutman, of Roan Mountain; one sister, Willie Troutman Barnett, of Hampton; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service to honor the life of Jack Troutman will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, in the Troutman Family Cemetery, in the Burbank Community of Roan Mountain, with Pastor Richard Blevins officiating. Music will be provided by the Johnson Family. Active pallbearers will be Jack’s nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Burbank Freewill Baptist Church. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 2335 Knob Creek Road, #101, Johnson City, TN 37604.
