It is hard for Tiffany Gold to not look back over the past seven years and crack a smile.
Primp N Tease Hair Salon has been going strong over the past seven years and recently treated the public to a reveal party on Monday to showcase expansion at their office — located on Hudson Drive.
“We had a really great turnout for our reveal party,” Tiffany Gold, Primp N Tease owner, said.
Expansion of Primp N Tease now allows a multitude of opportunities for customers and employees to take advantage of, according to Gold.
“We plan to continue growing,” she said. “We now have 10 salon stations that can be double shifted with up to 20 stylists that work hands on with customers.”
Gold started Primp N Tease at the age of 23 years old and noted that over the years, especially the last four, that the facility has seen numbers continually grow.
“Our sales have doubled over the last four years,” she said. “We’ve been very lucky to have our local customers and we also attract a lot of guests from out of the area. We’ve had people drive three hours down for a color service.”
With a booming customer base region, Gold added the salon wants to do its part to make customers’ experiences enjoyable.
“There are customer service goals in place,” she said. “We want people to enjoy their time here and have a great atmosphere. We offer robes, water and other things to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.”
Primp N Tease’s growth hasn’t gone unnoticed, either. While earning a small business award from the City of Elizabethton, Gold added the business has benefited from partnerships with nationally-recognized businesses and organizations, including Matrix and Summit.
Primp N Tease is considered a Matrix Elite Salon and is the only salon in Matrix’s 11-state region that has a state-of-the-art color bar.
“They noticed our growth patterns,” Gold said. “We specialize in hair color and we were provided a color bar that’s around $15,000.”
Room for growth is also available for stylists part of Primp N Tease. With partnerships like Summit and Matrix, employees are able to grow their ability with educational opportunities and the ability to raise their wages compared to other salons. Primp N Tease also doubles down on being a training salon.
“It has been very exciting,” Gold said about the past seven years. “I just wanted somewhere that was aesthetically pleasing and offered nice customer service. It has been great and we appreciate the support from the community.”
Individuals looking to learn about the facility can take full advantage of the top-tier customer service. Members of the customer support staff are more than willing to provide tours of the salon, Gold added.
Primp N Tease is opened Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
