Selma Carr Morgan

Mrs. Selma Carr Morgan, 79, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Erwin Health Care Center. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Odd and Corintha Shipley Carr. She was a homemaker and loved to work in her garden with her flowers. She also loved to go to yard sales and loved her dolls. She was a member of the Elizabethton Church of Christ. She enjoyed bluegrass, gospel and country music and loved animals, especially her dogs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hurley Conley Morgan; brothers, Gene Carr, Aaron Carr, Edmond Carr, Herman Carr and George Carr; and sisters, Mary Pritchard, Mae Carr and Naomi Carr.
Those left to cherish her memory include a brother, A.B. Carr, Elizabethton; two special nieces, Karen Calloway and Tracy Shepard, Elizabethton; and three sisters-in-law, Dean Guinn and Pauline Arhins, both of Elizabethton, and Wanda Morgan, Martinsville, Va. Several other nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Selma Carr Morgan will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, in the Morrell Cemetery, Bluff City, Tenn., with Rev. Jack Lloyd officiating. Active pallbearers will be David Calloway, Alan Shepard Sr., Alan Shepard Jr., Aaron Lloyd, Andy Blevins, Thomas Shepard and Bryson Lloyd.
