Lewis Wayne Dunn

Lewis Wayne Dunn, 66, of Elizabethton, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Raymond Roby and Carrie Calloway Dunn.
Wayne was a retired truck driver at General Shale and was also a farmer. He was a member of Hunter Memorial Baptist Church. He was an avid bear hunter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Dunn.
Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Tina Arnold Dunn; two step-children, Jonathan Sams, Elizabethton, and Jeremy Sams, of the home; a sister, Sharon Smith and husband Danny, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Judy Grindstaff; a brother-in-law, Roger Arnold; his special friends, Bobby Perkins, Bobby Joe Grindstaff, Phillip Taylor and all his hunting buddies; and his special pets, Cody and Snowflake.
Funeral services for Lewis Wayne Dunn will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Dunn officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 22, in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Thursday, will be Jeremy Sams, Mickey Taylor, Kirby Taylor, Bobby Perkins, Daniel Buckles, Scott Estep, Jackie Collins and Tommy Campbell. Honorary pallbearers will be his friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence.
