Winona “Granny” Smith

In loving memory of Winona “Granny” Smith, of Elizabethton, formerly a resident at the Pine Ridge Health Center, who passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the Johnson City Medical Center, after having a long, happy life of 99 years. She was not only “Granny” to her family, but was everyone’s “Granny.” She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Smith; one daughter, Betty Wayne Holtsclaw; and a special sister, Mary Lou Bradley.
Winona was a homemaker and attended Johnson City Free Will Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory include three grandchildren, Shannon Cole, Cheryl Frazier and Sherry Campbell, all of Johnson City; three great-grandchildren, Makayla Frazier, Amber Rhem and David Wayne Frazier; and five great-great-grandchildren, Lennox, Phoebe, Destanee, R.L. and Anna.
A service to celebrate the life of Winona “Granny” Smith will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, June 19, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Rex Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, at the Holtsclaw Cemetery in Hampton. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, at 10 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession.
