First Presbyterian
Bill Kirkwood will be guest speaker for the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday at First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton. His message is entitled “It’s Not Fair!”
An Education Hour for all ages and Chancel Choir Rehearsal will be at 10 a.m.
Other events of the week include yoga Friday at 10 a.m.

Zion Baptist
Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will have Vacation Bible School beginning Sunday, June 11, and continuing through Thursday, June 15. Classes will be held daily from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
This year’s VBS theme is “Maker Fun Factory — Created by God, Built For A Purpose.”
Commencement and Family Fun Night will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 16.
There will be classes for all ages and transportation can be provided.

Harvest Baptist
Harvest Baptist Church, 309 East F St., Elizabethton, will hold a Youth Camp Car Wash & Bake Sale on Saturday, June 10, starting at 8:30 a.m.
All donations and purchases will go toward camp expenses for campers and sponsors.

East Side Christian
East Side Christian Church will have a Vacation Bible School Kids Camp Saturday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The theme for the camp is “Follow Jesus,” and there will be classes and activities for children, age five to 12.
Lunch will be served and there will be crafts, games and prizes.
East Side Christian is located at 1400 Siam Road.

First Christian
John Smith will present the message Sunday at morning worship at First Christian Church of Elizabethton. His message theme will be “The Good Confession.”
The service begins at 9:45 a.m.
Scripture will be read by David Shields and the communion meditation will be given by the adult choir. Special music will be presented by the Men’s Quartet.
Bible School classes for all ages will begin at 11 a.m.
There will be no evening service Sunday, however, members who wish will meet at the church at 5:30 p.m. to travel to Cornerstone Village (formerly Appalachian Christian Village) where Minister Smith will be conducting services.
The second night of Vacation Bible School will be held Monday, beginning at 5:30 p.m. with supper. Classes will be from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and will be for the entire family.
John Smith will lead the Tuesday Morning Prayer Service at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary.
The Wednesday evening prayer service and Bible study at 6 p.m. will be led by Minister Smith. Visitation teams will go out at 6 p.m. Choir practice will be at 7 p.m.

Unaka Baptist
Unaka Baptist Church will have its bi-monthly Brotherhood Breakfast Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall. The cost is $7 per person.
All proceeds go to the building fund.
Phillippi Baptist
Phillippi Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School beginning Monday, June 12, at 5:30 p.m. The Bible School will continue through Friday.
All children are invited.
Sunday at 3 p.m. there will be a praise service in celebration of the youth revival held this past week. Among the singers will be New Hope, New Zion and the Phillippi Youth Praise Team.

Poplar Grove
Poplar Grove Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 11-14 with classes each day from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The theme of the Bible School is “Jesus: The Solid Rock.”
There will be classes for children age three through 12th grade.

First United Methodist
“We Have Our Orders” is the sermon topic for Sunday morning worship at First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton. The sermon is based on the Great Commission as found in Matthew 28: 16-20.
The worship service begins at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
The Sunday evening Bible Study will be at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall as will be the Wednesday evening Life Lessons.
The 4:12 Student Ministries Group (Junior and Senior High age students) will meet Sunday from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. in the 4:12 Ministries House. The Coolagers will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Hut.

Roan Street Free Will
Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School June 21-23 with classes each evening from 6:30 to 8:30.
The theme of the Bible school is “Over The Moat.” Classes will be available for ages three through 19.

Sinking Creek
Vacation Bible School at Sinking Creek Baptist Church is June 25-30 with classes daily from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The closing ceremonies will be at 10:50 a.m. in the sanctuary July 2 with refreshments and snacks to follow in the Christian Life Center.
