Edwin Blaine Fair

Edwin Blaine Fair, 85, of Telford, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 17, 2017, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Coy and Ethel Perry Fair.
Ed, also known as Bo Bo, was a 1950 graduate of Elizabethton High School where he played on the baseball team. He was a graduate of Utah State University, Logan, Utah with a degree in Fish & Wildlife Management. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Ed was employed as a Fishery Biologist with the United States Fish & Wildlife Service, Department of The Interior. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Elizabethton, and Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238, Elizabethton. In earlier years, he was a Cub Scout Leader and Coached Little League.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sister, Jeweldean Estep and Betty Spears, and a brother, Harold Fair.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Edna LaFollette Fair; three children, Sandie Ellis and husband Ernie, Columbia, S.C., Melinda Welch and husband William, Raleigh, N.C., and Jennifer Fair, Acworth, Ga.; a grandson, Joseph Ellis; his sisters, Dorothy Dykes and husband Gerald, Goose Creek, S.C., Shirley Hale and Ann Ingram and husband Billy, all of Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Edwin Blaine Fair will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Jennings and the Rev. Jack Lloyd officiating. The Eulogy will be given by his daughter, Jenny. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the Cat Island Crew. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department and members of the Washington County-Johnson City EMS.
