The Hampton Lady Bulldogs found out what’s next for them Sunday evening as the TSSAA held its 2017 BlueCross State Tournament drawing ceremony.
Hampton (21-13) will take on Huntingdon (25-7) Thursday, Mar. 9, at 2:45 CST, 3:45 EST in the Class A girls’ quarterfinals.
The Lady Mustangs topped Trinity Christian 71-69 during their Class A State Sectional contest Saturday.
Starting in late January, Huntingdon started a 12-game win streak, before falling to Dresden (28-7) in the Region 7-A championship, 45-42.
“Right now, all I know is that they are 25-7,” said Hampton head coach Bud Hazelwood. “They must be pretty good to be here. ”
Hampton bought their ticket to Murfreesboro with a 42-41 win over Oneida Saturday during their state sectional game.
Other Class A quarterfinal games include Clarkrange and Perry County at 1:15 pm CST, Summertown and Dresden 4:30 CST, and South Greene versus Pickett County 6 pm.
All Class A quarterfinal games will be played Thursday.
