Mary Louise Anderson Watson Clawson, 86, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
A native of Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late Earl D. and Estelle Gregg Anderson. She had lived in Carter County for several years.
Mrs. Clawson was a retired employee of American Water Heater and Glen Raven Mills. She attended Long Hollow Missionary Baptist Church. She loved to sew and quilt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Alvin Champ Watson and Randolph Clawson; a sister, Willis Guy; and a brother, Ralph Anderson.
Survivors include two children, Betty Davis and Linda Gail Hill and husband Wade, all of Elizabethton; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson, Dean Raney (born Monday morning); three brothers, Jim Anderson and wife Bobbie and Raymond Anderson, all of Elizabethton, and Paul Anderson and wife Joyce, Johnson City; two sisters, Burless Shaffer, Elizabethton, and Lois Matherly and husband Tom, Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service for Mary Louise Anderson Watson Clawson will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, in the Matherly Cemetery, Butler, with the Rev. Charlie Trivette officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
