Police are investigating an armed robbery of a city pharmacy where the suspect reportedly fled after obtaining prescription medication.
Officers of the Elizabethton Police Department were dispatched to the CVS Pharmacy, located at 1100 W. Elk Avenue, around 8 p.m. According to radio transmissions between officers and 911 dispatchers pharmacy staff reported a male subject brandished a handgun during the robbery before fleeing the store heading toward Elizabethton High School. The 911 caller did not know if the suspect got into a vehicle or not.
