A new optometrist recently set up shop in Elizabethton, and she can’t wait to see you.
Dr. Sarah Arnette, O.D., joined the practice of established local optometrist Dr. Tammy Holsclaw-Jones and she is currently accepting new patients. Arnette began working with Holsclaw-Jones on an intermittent basis in September and joined the practice full time in December.
A Florida native, Arnette graduated in 2010 from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, located in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and is now in her seventh year of practicing.
“I got tired of the beach and decided to head for the mountains,” Arnette said. “I came up and worked in Abingdon, Va., for a while and then went to Johnson City.”
“I just thought it was so beautiful here,” she said. “I passed through here a couple of times when I was younger. It’s perfect here.”
In addition to routine eye exams Arnette said she and Holsclaw-Jones also help their patients choose the best plan of care for their vision.
“We do a lot of specialty contact lens fittings here,” Arnette said. “We also do a lot of disease management with patients.”
The office of Holsclaw-Jones and Arnette is located at 210 Rogosin Drive near Elizabethton High school. You can contact the office at 423-543-6868 or visit them online at www.drtammyhjones.com.
