Bobby Dean Canter

Bobby Dean Canter, 62, Johnson City, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 in the Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Melvin H. & Ellen Marie Wilson Canter.  Bobby had served as a Constable in the 3rd district of Carter County for 14 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Constables Association. He was a member of the Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; Bobbie Sue Tipton.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years: Louise Guinn Canter. Three Children: Deanna Whitaker and husband Stacy, Berley Canter and Jessica Price. Six Grandchildren: Sylvia Carrier, Dustin Whitaker, Jasmine Canter, Jacob Tipton, Alexander Price and Cody Price. Two Great Granddaughters: Shayla and Braylee Carrier. His Brother: Harvey Canter and wife Pat. Three Sisters: Judy Wiseman, Shirley Price and Karen Stout. Several Nieces & Nephews.

Graveside Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2017 in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery with the Pastor Mark Fowler officiating. Honorary Minister is Pastor Bobby Stout. Active Pallbearers will be: Berley Canter, Stacy Whitaker, Dustin Whitaker, Jacob Tipton, Brandon Carrier and Westley Canter. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tennessee Constables. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the Staff of Hermitage Health Care and Caris Hospice for the excellent care Bobby received.
