Floyd Allen Richardson

Floyd Allen Richardson, 82, of Elizabethton, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016, at Hermitage Health Center.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Noah and Pearl Estes Richardson.
Before his retirement Floyd was a heavy equipment operator. He attended Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Smith Richardson; two sons, Floyd A. Richardson Jr. and Douglas Richardson; his brothers, Orville, Roy and Noah Richardson Jr.; a sister, Lelia Cole; and a special nephew, Elwayne Cole.
Survivors include his children, Donna (Jim) Fritz, Linda (Rev. Lester) Perkins, Kimberly (Michael) Ensor and Dallas Richardson, all of Elizabethton, Lela (Bill) Fuller, Jackson, Ga., Tresa (Doug) Jones, Johnson City, Vicki (Mark) Fuller of Georgia, and Rev. Terry (Melissa) Richardson, Hampton; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Floyd Allen Richardson will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 22, at Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Greer, the Rev. Noah Richardson and Dr. James Richardson officiating. Music will be provided by Margaret Davis. Interment will follow in the Garland Cemetery with the Rev. Justin Hodges officiating. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, will be Noah Cole, Wayne Dunn, Kevin Campbell, Jeff Williams, Waco Davis and Joe Eggers. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons, Leon Blevins, Johnny Grindstaff, Bobby Oliver, Glen Arnold, Bobby Joe Richardson, Gene Carrier and Keith Carrier. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Hermitage Health Center and the staff of Caris Hospice. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Thursday at Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Rev. Lester Perkins, 126 Big Sandy Road, Elizabethton.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is serving the Richardson family.
