Saturday, November 12, 2016, Gene “Mean Gene” Morgan, 71, decided to ride the great canoe into the sky.
Born in Missoula, Mont., to Junior and Agnes Morgan, Gene was the eldest of six children. Being in the Air Force allowed him to become a worldwide traveler until he retired 21 years later and settled in Elizabethton. He eventually retired from Alcan and ETSU.
In his retirement, he enjoyed fly fishing, and watching war movies. He cooked excellent fried potatoes and cabbage, made a mean hot toddy, could play World of Warcraft for hours, and was known to analyze your handwriting.
He is survived by brothers, Doug and Richard, in San Bernardino, Calif. He is also survived by a great many relatives in Fanrock, W.Va., as well as his children (Jason, Aaron, and Ruth), and his wife, Sarah.
No funeral is planned.
