Florence Etta Morris Harrison

Florence Etta Morris Harrison, of Watauga, entered Heaven on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. She was met by her Savior and her beloved son, James Parlier.
Florence was born August 26, 1931 to loving parents, William Henry and Vina Carr Morris. She was one of 12 children, 10 who predeceased her. She was also preceded in death by her son, James Parlier, who was the light of her life, and a step-son, Conley “Smoke” Harrison.
Florence was a Christian and attended Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church. She had worked many years for Galbreath Bakery but for the past 40 years she and her husband owned and operated Rocky Top Carpet. She enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband and soul mate, Albert Harrison; step-son, Keith Harrison; step-daughter, Audrey (John) Edney; daughters-in-law, Kathryn Parlier, Elizabethton, and Debbie Harrison, Johnson City; her sister, Joyce Vandeventer, Elizabethton; grandchildren, Lynn (Rob) Honeycutt, Deborah (Dustin) Ledford, William (Kelly) Harrison, Daniel (Jessica) Harrison and BJ Wilson; great-grandchildren, Masie Honeycutt, Dakota Ryan, Chris Wilson, Dawson Ledford, Caelyn and Gabrielle, Mykala and Ethan Harrison; her special friends, Gene and Gail Fleenor, Paul Smith, RL Poole and Frank Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Florence Etta Morris Harrison will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, October 14, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastors Gene Fleenor and RL Poole officiating. The entombment service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 15, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:20 p.m. Saturday, will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Phipps, Gene Murphy, David Hart, Paul Humphreys, Frank Richardson, Gary Perry, the Carter County Military Honor Guard, her church family and Dr. Jonathan Bremer. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
