A male suspect in a vehicle burglary and fraud case has now been identified following a request by police to the public in helping to identify the man.
On Thursday morning, Elizabethton Police Department Capt. Joy Shoun issued a statement that the man had been identified as 44-year-old Michael Von Bristol.
“Charges are pending at this time,” Shoun said. “Bristol is also wanted in other local jurisdictions and there are outstanding warrants for his arrest. As always, thanks for all of your assistance!”
On Tuesday, Shoun released surveillance photographs of Bristol and the car he was witnessed operating to the public in hopes of learning the man’s identity.
Von Bristol is suspected of involvement in a vehicle burglary that occurred in the parking lot of a city business on Sept. 14. A witness reported seeing a black female get out of a gold sedan and get into another car in the parking lot. The female suspect then got back into the gold sedan which was driven by a male suspect who has now been identified as Von Bristol according to police.
No information has yet been released by police regarding the female suspect in the case.
