Twins top Mets, 5-2

The Twins picked up their second-straight win over the Kingsport Mets Thursday at Joe O’Brien.
Elizabethotn out hit the Mets ten to five during its 5-2 win.
After giving up a run to Kingsport in the first frame, the Twins Mitchell Kranson provided the go-ahead run when he popped a two-run homer out right field to net Shane Carrier, giving Elizabethton a 2-1 lead.
The E-Twins kept things moving in the third frame as they posted three more runs to jump out to a 5-1 edge. Elizabethton’s Trey Cabbage, with one out and three on base, singled to bring home teammate Lewin Diaz, before Caleb Hamilton kept thing chugging forward with a RBI-single to plate Shane Carrie. The Twins wrapped things up in the third with Kranson coming home on a ground out by Robert Molina.
The Mets scored one last time in the final frame with Kingports Jeremy Wolf coming to the house during a ground out.
At the plate, Carrier and Maunel Guzman went 2-of-4 for the Twins, while Kranson finished 1-of-3 with his third-inning long ball.
Elizabethton pitcher Alex Schick (4-1) picked up the win for the Twins as he threw for six innings, during which he stuck out five and walked two. He finished things up with four hits and one run against him before being swapped out for Quin Grogan in the seventh inning. Grogan worked for two innings before turning things over to Hector Lujan, who was awarded his second save of the season.
With the win, the Twins are now 25-22 on the season, while the Mets fell to 17-31.
Elizabethton will play one more against the Mets today at Joe O’Brien Field.
