Martha (Clara) Jane “Granny B” Blevins, 93, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away peacefully at her home Friday, July 22, 2016. Her granddaughter, Marcella Widner, was with her. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Beryl Blevins; an infant son, Richard; her parents, S.C. and Luna Bell Ball; two sisters, Dorothy Deloach and Ruby Crow; and a brother, Clarence Ball.
“Granny B” was a devoted mother, grandmother and neighbor.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Edna Grindstaff and husband Henry, Wilma Martin, Ted Blevins, Pauletta Pierce and husband Ken, Jackie Blevins, Samantha Berry and husband James and Terry Blevins and wife Tammy; her grandchildren, Marcella, John, Amy, Scott, David, Daniel, Casey, Kelly, Kourtney, Mitzi, Justin, Terry, Angel, Reanna and Travis; several great-grandchildren; four great-great-granddaughters; special friends, Kaye Moody, Joan Boardman and Theron Johnson; and lots of other friends and neighbors.
She was the oldest charter member of Riverview Baptist Church.

A service to honor the life of Martha (Clara) Jane “Granny B” Blevins will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Riverview Baptist Church with Mr. Theron Johnson and Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Music will be under the direction of her family. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, or at the residence at any time. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Wilson Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, Scott Pierce, David Pierce, Daniel Pierce, Greg Mahala, John Harrison, Travis Bowman, Chad Henson and Casey Blevins, and sons-in-law, James Berry, Henry Grindstaff and Ken Pierce. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men’s Sunday School Class of Riverview Baptist Church. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
