Linda Sue Estep Ayers

Linda Sue Estep Ayers, 74, of Elizabethton, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Johnson City Medical Center after a brief illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William Earl and Bonnie Hodge Estep.
Linda was a 1959 graduate of Unaka High School and attended Milligan College. She was retired from the First Tennessee Human Resource Agency. She was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, Robin Ayers and friend, Kenny Pack, Greeneville, Beth Hughes and husband Mike, Limestone, and William “Bill” Ayers and wife Penny, Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Gary Joe Malone and wife Krystal, Cody Ayers and wife Emily and Austin Ayers; two great-grandchildren, Kane Malone and Jaxon Ayers; a brother, Larry J. Estep, Blountville; one niece; several cousins and friends; and a special friend, Robert Johnson.
Funeral services for Linda Sue Estep Ayers will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, July 22, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Estel Williams officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, in the Grindstaff-Combs Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, will be Gary Joe Malone, Cody Ayers, Austin Ayers, Mark Bradwell, Kenny Pack, Mike Hughes and William Wiggins. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of the 4500 Wing at Johnson City Medical Center for the excellent care Linda received. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
