Watauga Valley Fife & Drum Corps — The Fife & Drum Corps performs at historical events, dedications and parades. This group is open to anyone ages 13 & up. Musical experience is welcome but not necessary; just come with a willingness to learn. Meet our volunteer coordinator John Large at the Sycamore Shoals Visitors Center. Lessons are free of charge, just call and let us know you’re coming!

In the event of bad weather, the concerts and other performances will be relocated from the amphitheater to Picnic Shelter 3, which is located next to the park campground.

Alzheimers Tennessee Caregiver Support Group will meet at noon at Sycamore Springs Senior Living Center at 1504 W. Elk Ave. for caregivers of friends or relatives suffering from Alzheimers or another form of dementia. Attending the support group can help people to feel less isolated and to make connections with others facing similar challenges. For more information, contact Regional Director Tracey Kendall at 423-330-4532.

Edward Jones Financial Advisor Thomas Davis of Elizabethton will host a four-week financial workshop. The workshop will be held once a week from 6 to 7 p.m. at Milligan College, 1 Blowers Blvd., Derthick Hall Room #110. The days for the event include June 28, July 5, July 12 and July 19. “Whether you are interested in saving for retirement or education, leaving a legacy for future generations or protecting your loved ones, you should plan to attend these informative classes,” Davis said.

The descendants of William “Bill” and Mary Jane Potter Timbs will have a family reunion at the Watauga Valley Freewill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 1 p.m. The church is located on Highway 91 just above Unaka High School. Child care is not provided. GriefShare video sessions feature nationally recognized experts on grief recovery topics. Seminar sessions include “Living with Grief,” “The Journey of Grief,” “The Effects of Grief,” “Why?,” and “Stuck in Grief.” GriefShare is sponsored by Sycamore Shoals Hospital Spiritual Care Department and Grace Baptist Church.
