Friday, July 8
The Elizabethton Senior Dance Club will hold a dance at the Elizabethton Elks Lodge, No. 1847, 1000 N. Sycamore St., from 7 to 10 p.m. The Rambling Rose Band will provide music. Those attending the dances are asked to bring finger foods to share. There is a $6 door charge. The club holds dances the second and fourth Friday nights of each month. All seniors are welcome.
The Summer Concert Series at Roan Mountain State Park presents T.V. Barnett and his Roan Mountain Moonshiners. All performances will be from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the Park Amphitheater. In the event of bad weather, the concerts and other performances will be relocated from the amphitheater to Picnic Shelter 3, which is located next to the park campground.
Saturday, July 9
The descendants of William Grant and Eva Whitehead Roberson will have a reunion at Roan Mountain State Park, Shed No. 1. A covered-dish lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend. For more information call Pat at 725-4461.
The James Montgomery Family will have a reunion beginning at noon at the Hampton Christian Church Fellowship Hall. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish, their favorite drink and a dessert. For more information call Helen Nave at 512-0062 or Betty Montgomery at 543-7049.
Watauga Valley Fife & Drum Corps — The Fife & Drum Corps performs at historical events, dedications and parades. This group is open to anyone ages 13 & up. Musical experience is welcome but not necessary; just come with a willingness to learn. Meet our volunteer coordinator John Large at the Sycamore Shoals Visitors Center. Lessons are free of charge, just call and let us know you’re coming!

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will meet at First Baptist Church, 212 East F St., Elizabethton. Weigh-in begins at 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. Tuesday, July 12
The Hampton High School Class of 1966 will meet for dinner at 6 p.m. at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s in Elizabethton. All classmates are invited.
The Johnson City United Auto Workers Retirees will hold their monthly meeting at 10 a.m. at the Pipefitters Union Hall, 655 Watauga Road, Watauga. Edward Jones Financial Advisor Thomas Davis of Elizabethton will host a four-week financial workshop. The workshop will be held once a week from 6 to 7 p.m. at Milligan College, 1 Blowers Blvd., Derthick Hall Room #110. The days for the event include June 28, July 5, July 12 and July 19. “Whether you are interested in saving for retirement or education, leaving a legacy for future generations or protecting your loved ones, you should plan to attend these informative classes,” Davis said.

Elk Ave. for caregivers of friends or relatives suffering from Alzheimers or another form of dementia. Attending the support group can help people to feel less isolated and to make connections with others facing similar challenges. For more information, contact Regional Director Tracey Kendall at 423-330-4532.
