Always on top of helping the community, 11-year-old Cagney Bennett is focusing her attention to her school.
The Little Miss/Pre-Teen Elizabethton Fundraiser Pageant is scheduled to get underway Saturday, July 9, at T.A. Dugger Middle School with multiple divisions for contestants to compete in.
Registration for the event is scheduled for 11 a.m. with a $50 fee for contestants while the pageant is scheduled to take place at 1 p.m.
Bennett stays busy with her title as the 2016 Miss Pre-Teen South East Region United States. The T.A. Dugger student serves as an ambassador through the Elizabethton-Carter County Public Library and a portion of the proceeds from the event will go back into the Elizabethton City School System for the T.A. Dugger library, according to Cagney’s mother, Jancey.
Saturday’s event features two categories: casual wear and beauty.
Participants have the opportunity to compete in various divisions; including:
Infant Miss – (0 to 11 months)
Baby Miss – (12 to 23 months)
Toddler Miss – (2 to 4 years old)
Tiny Miss – (5 to 7 years old)
Little Miss – (8 to 9 years old)
Pre-Teen – (10 to 12 years old)
Jr. Teen – (13 to 15 years old)

An Ultimate Grand Supreme will also be named during the pageant, Jancey said, which will be awarded to the contestant with the collective highest point total out of all the divisions.
Cagney is putting on the event along with Summer Blalock Wilson, the United States National Pageants Executive Director with Tennessee, West Virginia and Arkansas.
Along with the portion of proceeds from the event going to the TAD library, funds raised for the event will also go to assisting travel costs for Cagney as she travels to compete in the Little Miss United States, put on by the United States National Pageants organization, in the Pre-Teen division beginning July 30 in Las Vegas, Nev., for a three-day affair. The Supermodels Unlimited Runway competition is scheduled for July 30, the sportswear and evening gown preliminaries is scheduled for July 31 with the conclusion of the event pegged for August 1.
Jancey added the family is scheduled to leave for the event July 29 and Cagney brings a laundry list of accomplishments for the event, including her current title, which she won during the month of April. Cagney also earned the title of Little Miss Tennessee United States in 2014, where she finished third in the national competition that same year.
The Tattoo Den in Elizabethton is serving as her national sponsor while David Crockett Attorney at Law sponsors the wardrobe.
