Jesse Alan Hardin, age 12, of Elizabethton, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Niswonger Children’s Hospital in Johnson City. Jesse was the son of Jeffery Hardin and Sherri Hodge Hardin and was born in Washington County but lived in Carter County all of his life. He was a sixth-grade student at T.A. Dugger Jr. High School and a member of Unaka Baptist Church. He played baseball and basketball and loved to fish.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Sarah Hardin and Rebekah Hardin; one brother, John-Wesley Hardin, all of the home; maternal grandparents, Richard and Phyllis Hodge; Paternal grandparents, Doug and Danette Hardin, all of Elizabethton; and several cousins.
A service to honor the life of Jesse Alan Hardin will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 8th in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Reverend Walker Roberson and Reverend Mark Grubb officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Patty Hodge and the New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church Quartet. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 4-7 PM prior to the funeral service in the chapel or at the residence at other times. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 9th at the Blevins Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Donald Ensor, Johnny Ensor, Davy Ensor, Daniel Ensor, Kameron Elsea, Matt Wood and Christian Rodgers. Honorary pallbearers will be all the players and coaches of the Elizabethton National Baseball League. Everyone will meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 9:15 AM on Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
