Henry T. Ward

Henry T. Ward, 84, of the Poga Community, with his family by his side and with heavy hearts, our dear Uncle Henry went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 6, 2015, from his residence. Henry was a native of Carter County and a son of the late John and Lethia Price Ward. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Jewel Whitner, Effie Ward and Mary Humphrey, and three brothers, Dennis Ward, J.D. Ward and Lonzo Ward.
Henry retired from Alcoa Aluminum Products and attended Piney Grove Church of Christ. He loved working and loved his dogs, “Little Bit” and “Chilly.”
Those left to cherish his memory include his special friend and caregiver, Joyce Guy Dugger, of the home; his “partner in crime,” who was like his daughter, Amanda Dugger Allen, of the home; and his special friends, Sandra Nunley, Vickie Whaley, Wibbie Henthorne, Charlie Vines, Beulah Mae Ward, Nancy Guy, Kattie Whaley and Bobbie Nunley. Several nieces and nephews and many other special friends and neighbors also survive.
A service to honor and celebrate the life of Henry T. Ward will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday, August 10, at the Piney Grove Church of Christ with Mr. Dean Estep, minister, and Mr. Mike Nunley officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 3 to 4 p.m. Monday, prior to the service, or at the residence at anytime. The graveside service will follow in the Hamby Cemetery in the Whaleytown Community of Butler. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
